|

Looking to fill out your lineup of go-to takeout food in Tempe? RISE on Apache is here to help. Take a spin through these six spots close to home and close to the Arizona State University campus.

Thai Basil

Given that it’s so close to RISE on Apache (less than a quarter-mile away), Thai Basil might already be in your takeout rotation. If it’s not, what are you waiting for? This popular spot on South Rural Road offers all the Thai staples – craveable curries, palate-pleasing pad thai, delicious drunken noodles, and satisfying spring rolls.

Original ChopShop

Who says takeout can’t be healthy? Original ChopShop on East University Drive, just a mile and a half from RISE, specializes in food that is both flavorful and nutritious. Choose from a variety of wraps, bowls, salads, sandwiches, juices, and protein shakes. Local favorites include the Acai Bowl, the Red Chili Lime Shrimp Bowl, and the Kale Caesar Salad.

The ChuckBox

When you need your burger fix, look no further than The ChuckBox. This popular spot on East University Drive serves mesquite-broiled goodness and is less than 2 miles from RISE. Make sure to bring cash!

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery

We had to include at least one breakfast spot on this list. Snooze on South College Avenue (less than 2 miles from RISE) is a worthy choice. This growing chain restaurant puts a creative spin on traditional breakfast favorites. You’ll find everything from breakfast tacos and pot pie to pancakes topped with all sorts of sweet ingredients and loaded combo plates – all quirkily named.

Knuckle Sandwiches

If a heaping sandwich sounds like it’d hit the spot, Knuckle Sandwiches has you covered. Located on West Elliot Road, this restaurant knocks out your hunger with a diverse lineup of sandwiches, wraps, paninis, and salads.

Moonbowls

Offering a delicious assortment of unique Korean-inspired bowls, Moonbowls is a nutritious option less than 2 miles from RISE. Some of the inventive dishes at this East Fifth Street restaurant include the Avocado Bulgogi bowl, starring Impossible “beef,” kimchi, and ginger garlic soy sauce, and the Don’t Cauliflower It a Comeback bowl, with sweet Korean barbecue cauliflower, artichokes, and kale.
